Revised Poem

Don't Show Them

Mean looks
Narrow eyes
Laughter behind a hand
A slight shake of the head
With a God awful grin
Why do the look that way?
Don't show them that they got to you.

Walking by
I see them
They treat me like I'm invisible
And I don't want to be
Until they talk
"God, she's so weird"
Don't show them that you want to cry

I can hear them talking.
I can hear the whispering.
I can hear them joking like I'm not there.
Don't show them that they are wicked
in every single way.

What did I do
to make them say such things?
I always minded my own business
Why don't they do the same?
Don't show them that they know
Your weakness

I look down
No eye contact
No acknowledgement of any kind
Keep walking
Don't look back
Don't show them they are stronger
Don't show them that they have won

Just don't show them anything.

Wonderful! Why don't you submit both these poems to Damian for possible inclusion in the LM???
